Animals show a variety of behavior in the environment filled with multimodal information. Human beings recognize the world mainly by vision, but many other animals recognize the world by chemical senses, mechanical senses, etc. Some can produce bioluminescence pheromone or acrostic signs to form communication network in the environment. June 2016, focusing on “environmental sensing and animal behaviors”, we shall gather and discuss the recent progress of researches and stimulate each other for future activities from the general and the comparative points of view.
